DC G’bl reviews functioning of FPN, Tehsil Bagh

GANDERBAL, JUNE 09: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal today visited Fruit Plant Nursery cum orchard established at Tehsil Bagh Ganderbal and reviewed its functioning.
On the occasion, the DC took stock of working of the nursery and Horticulture Development Officer (HDO) informed that nursery cum orchard is established at an area of 169.5 kanals of land where more than 50,000 elite nursery plants of high density varieties of apple, apricot, peach, plum, cherry are planted etc.
The DC also visited the under construction installation of work shed for performing grafting procedures and temporary shortage shed for removal of shield heat of horticultural produce after harvest.
The DC appreciated the department for establishing plant nursery and said that Horticulture sector plays an important role in the district and contributes significantly to the economy of the district especially for farming community
The DC during the visit was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Horticulture Development Officer Ganderbal and other concerned officials.
