J&K Reports Biggest Single Day Spike As 285 People Test Postive, Covid-19 Tally At 3142

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded the highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with 285 new patients, taking its tally to 3142. Nearly 1000 cases were added up in the tally in last six days alone.
Sources said that among the fresh cases, 63 were from Jammu and 222 from Kashmir Valley which include 20 pregnant women, two health workers besides as many as butchers.
Sources said that among the cases, Anantnag reported 27, Kulgam 49, Srinagar 25, Kupwara 19,
Baramulla 29, Shopian 35, Bandipora 15, Budgam 5, Pulwama 14, Ganderbal 4, Jammu 11, Kathua3
Udhampur 25, Poonch 4, Samba 3, Rajouri 6, Doda 3, Reasi 3 and Kishtwar 5.
Sources said that among thm, 135 cases were reported at CD hospital laboratory and include the pregnant women from Khanoo Langate, Vilgam, Shartgund, Khumriyal, Hatmulla areas of Kupwara, Drug Teng, Yaangoora and Akhal areas of Kangan ganderbal, Hanfia Colony, Hygam and Hatlangoo areas of Sopore town in Baramulla district.
Besides, the cases include are two health workers—one from District Hospital Gandarbal and another from SDH Sopore—and two butchers from Chee and Sirpora Anantnag, sources said.
Dr. G H Yatoo, Nodal Officer Coronavirus Control Measures at SKIMS, said that out of the 1639 samples processed at the viral diagnostic lab today, 31 returned positive for the virus.
Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, said that among them 19 are from Baramulla, five from Bandipora, three from Anantnag, two from Srinagar and one each from Kulgam and Kupwara.
Dr Riyaz Untoo, Principal SKIMS Bemina, said that out of the 622 samples processed at the hospital’s diagnostic laboratory till afternoon today, 19 came out to be positive. They include two from Budgam—30-year-old from Chiara Magam and 61-year-old man from Warihama Magam. Seventeen cases were reported from Jammu and include females aged 07,15,35, 65 and 70 years old while remaining include one year old baby besides men aged 15,18,18,25,25,25, 27,30,40,42 and 55 years respectively.
57 cases were confirmed at army’s Udhampur hospital. Confirming it, Lt Col Inam Danish Khan told GNS that out of them 29 were from Udhampur, 14 from Jammu, three each from Reasi, Akhnoor, Rajouri, Poonch while one each from Samba and Kishtwar.
