Imran seeks special package for journalists

Srinagar, May 18: Former Deputy Mayor Srinagar Sheikh Mohammed Imran on Monday urged Lieutenant Governor led administration to announce a special package for the journalists working on the ground.
Imran in a statement issued to media stated that journalists are “our COVID warriors who risk their lives to provide authentic information particularly during the ongoing coronavirus crisis where fake news has become a big challenge.”
“We all should stand up to support them and pressure J&K administration to announce a special package for them,” he said.
Imran said journalists have provided us with accurate and authentic information during the present crisis.
“They are our heroes who are working around the clock to make sure our people are informed as to the deadly virus ricochets through our towns and our families,” he said.
Imran said as a common Kashmiri, “I am highly impressed & inspired with entire media fraternity to express that special package should be designed, drafted & sanctioned in their favor.”
“Coronavirus has strained & drained our journalists too and they have stood for our worst and we cannot leave them alone at this critical juncture,” he said.
