Gunfight starts in Kishtwar forests, 4 days after fatal axe attack on SPOs

Srinagar: A gunfight broke out in Kishtwar forests between militants and joint team of police and army on Friday.
Police said that four days back two SPOs of Kishtwar District were attacked by two suspects of Dachan area with axes, killing one of them and injuring another. Police parties rushed and gave a chase through jungles and mountainous terrain, the statement said.
It said reinforcement of additional police parties and local Army unit were rushed to the area. “Some time back contact established and exchange of fire started,” it added.
