Robust system put in place to combat COVID-19: Advisor Baseer Khan

Anantnag: Advisor to Lt Governor Baseer Ahmad Khan, who is also overall incharge of coronavirus control efforts (CCE) today conducted an extensive tour of various areas on the National Highway (NH) from Srinagar to Jammu to review implementation of lockdown and other preparedness.
At Lower Munda, the Advisor directed DDC Anantnag to implement lockdown strictly across the district in order to break the chain of coronavirus transmission, besides he also stressed on proper facilities to be provided to medical fraternity, including ample stock of personal protective equipment (PPE).
The Advisor also directed the concerned to ensure full proof screening of truck drivers and helpers at Lower Munda and Zig Mor.
The DDC Anantnag was also directed to track down all of the contacts of the single COVID-19 patient in the district and take them to quarantine after necessary screening.
He urged the officials to ensure that those in quarantine should complete their full quarantine period of 14 days. They should be released only after all medical formalities, he further added.
Later, the Advisor halted at various points on the highway and inspected arrangements put in place by the concerned district administrations for general public, which include supply of essential commodities, fumigation, clearing of garbage dumps, smooth movement of essential commodity trucks, road condition and other measures to tackle the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. He directed concerned officers to remain alert and keep a close vigil on the current situation along with their staff in their respective jurisdiction, beside provide all necessary support to the local population.
On the occasion, the Advisor said that the government has put in place an effective and robust system in a mission mode. He urged all the stake holders to voluntarily cooperate with the government for the safety of people and society as whole.
