Collective effort required to Combat COVID19: Advisor Sharma

JAMMU: Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, KK Sharma today said that a collective and sustained effort is required from every section of society to combat the pandemic of COVID 19.
The Advisor was interacting with a group of industrialists who met him and presented contributions towards the J&K Relief Fund in support of the government for fighting the COVID 19 Pandemic.
The industrial groups of Saraswati Agrochemicals (Rs. 5.00 Lakh), Emcure Pharmaceuticals (Rs 2.00 Lakh plus Hydroxy Chloro Quinine Tablets 50,000 Nos for Food and Drug Control Organisation worth Rs. 3.00 Lakh), U-Flex (Rs 15.00 Lakh), PBI Industries (Rs.1.00 Lakh), Amar Roller Flour Mills (Rs. 1.00 Lakh) and Grauer & Weil (Rs. 11.00 Lakh) represented by their local Directors/ higher executives including Suraj Bansal, Satish Koul, I P Singh, Sanjay Puri, Bhushan Gupta J P Singh presented the cheques to Advisor.
Commissioner Secretary to Government Industries & Commerce Department Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, appreciated the gesture of unit holders and hoped that they will continue their support in this challenging fight against COVID pandemic. He hoped that more industrialists will come forward in support of the Government in this hour of need.
Director industries and Commerce, Jammu Anoo Malhotra gave a brief about the initiatives being taken by the department for providing the requisite support to essential industrial units for resuming their work and also follow the protocol put in place for COVID19. She also appreciated the gesture of the industrial houses for coming forward and contributing to the relief fund.
GM DIC Kathua informed that the President of Kathua Industrial Units Association Ajeet Bawa has also conveyed that their Association shall be contributing Rs 15.00 Lakh to J&K Relief Fund and the same shall be handed over tomorrow.
Director Industries thanked the Advisor for steering the department in these trying times and ensuring the resumption of manufacturing activities for essential items by the concerned units. She also spoke high of the Industrial fraternity which has always stood up in support of the Government in times of need.
The industrialists highlighted the importance of packaging material for the industry and requested to allow more packaging units to resume their activities.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the Industrial representatives and thanked the industrial houses for their concern and contribution in fight against the pandemic. He assured them to look into the issues highlighted by them for their redressal.
The Advisor stressed the need for maintaining social distancing, use of sanitisers and masks along with following proper hygiene by the workers in the factories
