Srinagar: Less than a week after joining Jash-e-Mohammad, a militant was arrested by a joint team of forces at Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Thursday.
The militant was arrested last night in Pattan’s Gantmullah area by the joint team comprising army’s 163 Territorial Army and police.
He has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Beigh of Shirpora, Kandi Kreeri. “On his instance, raids were carried out in Kreeri late night which resulted in the recovery of one AK rifle with two magazines and 40 rounds,” a police officer was quoted as saying by a local news agency.
Bashir, according to the police officer had joined militant ranks on April 2 this month and had also lured into militancy two boys who were earlier brought back and returned to their respective families.
