Poonch: A man was arrested for a sensitive social media post and has booked for “deliberate and malicious act intended to outrage religious feelings by insulting religion or religious beliefs” in Poonch district.
Official sources said that Parshant Dutta, a resident of Surankote, was arrested early morning by police following his sensitive post on Facebook.
The post according to police drew criticism in the region and the law enforcing agency swung into action and arrested and filed the case against him.
Confirming it, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral said that FIR (46/2020) under section 295A was registered against the man for his sensitive post.
“A team of experts is keeping a vigil on all the social media sites and those posting any sensitive matter with potential to create disturbances will not be spared,” he said, adding, “Appropriate action will be taken against whosoever posts anything sensitive on any social media platform.”
