Srinagar: Two soldiers who were critically injured in a gunfight with militants in Keran sector of Kupwara have succumbed, taking the number of soldiers killed to three and overall eight including five militants, army said. Also a number of other soldiers have been injured in the gunfight which is going on, army said.
“Despite prevailing inclement weather conditions, casualties have been evacuated. Unfortunately, two more soldiers succumbed to their injuries, others are presently undergoing treatment. Total three soldiers martyred,” army Spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said in a statement issued here, adding, “Operation is in progress”.
