Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on ordered deduction of day’s basic salary of every employee to be deposited in relief fund in view of Covid-19 Pandemic.
“Various Employee Organizations and Associations have expressed desire to contribute one day’s salary towards relief fund in view of Covid-19 Pandemic. It is, therefore, enjoined upon all drawing and disbursing officers of J&K Union Territory that an amount equal to one day’s basic salary of every employee may be deducted from the salary for the month of March, 2020 on voluntary basis,” reads an order issued by the government. However, the order said, the employees shall be free to donate in excess of one day’s basic salary, if they wish so. “The amount deducted shall be credited into the Account titled “J&K Relief Fund” as per details given.”
