JKSSB approves selection list of 550 junior staff nurses to augment anti-pandemic efforts

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board today approved the selection list of 550 junior staff nurses for the five newly established Government Medical Colleges to augment the efforts at health facilities to tackle coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
The selection list was prepared on a fast-track basis in view of the extraordinary circumstances prevailing in J&K due to Covid-19 on the request of the Health & Medical Education Department.
In this regard, an extraordinary meeting of the Board was convened by Chairman JKSSB Khalid Jahangir here today. The meeting was attended by Members of the Board: M. Shafiq Chak, Angrez Singh Rana, Pritam Lal Atri, Harvinder Kour and Controller Examination JKSSB Musheer Ahmad Mirza, Secretary JKSSB Ranjeet Singh and other concerned.
The selection list for 550 posts of junior staff nurses belonging to different categories, as prescribed under relevant rules, was approved during the meeting and recommended to the Health & Medical Education Department.
These 550 posts were advertised by the Board in 2019 and a waiting list as required under rules has also been prepared and forwarded to the indenting Department.
