Srinagar: As all schools are set to reopen from Thursday after ten-day vacations, the demand for extending summer holidays by the end of this month is coming from all corners.
Parents and children say the high temperature prevailing in the Valley will take a toll on the children’s health. “It would be better if government postpone the schools reopening date from July 25 to July 31,” said Ghulam Mohammad, a parent.
Nazir Ahmad, whose children study in a school in Lal Chowk here, said that even majors are finding it hard to travel amid scorching heat.
“The government shall consider extending vacations as the searing temperate are beyond ones control,” he said. The children also demanded extension in the vacations.
