Anantnag: A pregnant woman died due to the alleged ‘negligence of doctors’ of Maternity and Child Care Hospital (MCCH) in this south Kashmir’s district.
Following the death, the family members and other locals of the area held protests in courtyard of MCCH Hospital against the doctors and management and demanded stern punishment to the “guilty”.
According to them, Shazia Jan (25) wife of Rouf Ahmad of Shamsipora Anantnag was admitted to MCCH Anantnag on Tuesday after she complained labour pain. She was operated on Wednesday at MCCH Anantang. On Thursday at 3 o’clock doctors advised her family to refer her to SMHS however she breathed her last on the way to it, they said.
The family alleged that doctors at MCCH Hospital didn’t operate her properly due to which she was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. “She died due to the medical negligence of doctors at MCCH Anantnag,” they said.
They demanded that there should be an independent enquiry into her death and those found guilty should be punished.
Meanwhile despite repeated attempts by INS, both Medical Superintendent and CMO Anantnag could not be contacted.
