Officials said that the militants opened fire at Tauqeer, a former judge who resigned earlier this year and joined National Conference, came under fire from the gunmen during a party meeting. They said his PSO Riyaz Ahmed suffered bullet injuries and succumbed to injuries later. Tauqeer escaped unhurt.
A police spokesperson said that militants fired upon a policeman on duty identified as Riyaz Ahmad and in the incident, he sustained critical gunshot injuries and was evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment.
