Sources at the education department in the district revealed to INS that the students have not availed any benefit from the government scheme of providing uniforms to the students.

They said since students with not so good financial conditions are studying in the schools but have been bereft of the scheme.

“Conditions have forced such families to buy uniforms from the market, killing the very essence of the scheme,” they said.
He said that SSA scheme, under which students upto 8th standard were given free 2 sets of uniforms yearly however no such disbursement of uniforms has been done till date.

Interestingly, as the education calendar moves towards its closure, passing seven month, a senior official at the Chief Education Officer said that they will soon be distributing uniforms in students. ”

“We received funds late and very soon we will provide uniforms,” he said. .
