Portable water scarcity hits Shopian villages

Shopian: Many villages in Shopian district have been hit by portable water scarcity that has irked the residents and angered with the district officials.

“Villages of Imamsaheb area while no filtered water is being provided by PHE to us,” locals said.

One of the resident told INS that they are being supplied water full of mud while filtration points are defunct especially Phanoo filtration.

Sources in the PHE department wishing to anonymity said the infrastructure is very old since decades and the area needs fresh equipment to avoid crisis.
“We are working to remove blockades but it not the solution as the area needs new infrastructure,” he confided.
