Pulwama: Rain and hail storms lashed a swathe of the Pulwama on Friday, devastating apple and other crops.
Reports said that a fierce storm battered the south Kashmir district with hail, decimating orchards just as the summer season was kicking into high gear.
Reports reaching INS said hailstorm battered Rajpora, Lassipora, Murran, Rahmoo Awantipora and Tral areas of Pulwama district and destroyed apple and almost orchards
Reports said rains and gusty winds created panic in the area as many trees were uprooted in various villages, plunging them into darkness.
When contacted Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Syed Abid Rashid Shah said that official teams have been deployed to restore affected roads and electricity as well access loss to the orchardists.
