Tral protests beating of Sikh driver by police in New Delhi

Tral: Scores of people mainly comprising of Sikhs staged protest in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama against the beating of a Sikh driver by police in New Delhi.
Shouting “anti-India” and “pro-Pakistan” slogans, the protesters said that the driver Arvinder Singh was beaten up “ruthlessly” by Delhi Police. They demanded immediate and stern action against the responsible policemen.
The protesters burnt tyres and kept tree trunks on roads to block movement of vehicles. “This protest in solidarity with the driver who was beaten up in New Delhi by police,” a protester said. When this report was filed, stone pelting started in the area while police resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the protesters. The dingdong battle between the two sides was ongoing on.
