Shopian: Nine army soldiers and a civilian, who was working in a nearby field, were injured when militants on Monday evening triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast and followed it by firing at an army vehicle in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Official sources said that the IED was planted near Arihal Bridge near Grade. The militants followed it with firing. As the details emerged, at least nine soldiers and civilian were injured.
The injured army soldiers were removed to Army’s 92 base hospital at Badamibagh where condition of three among them is stated to be critical, they said. The injured civilian was evacuated to local hospital.
Soon after the attack, the army along with the additional reinforcements cordoned off the area and launched searches to nab the attackers, they added.
