Pulwama: Two militants were killed in the gunfight with government forces at Brobanduna (Sangam) area of this south Kashmir district on Friday.
Official sources said that Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles, police and CRPF launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of militants. As the joint team was carrying searches, they said, militants hiding in the area opened fire which was retaliated, triggering off an encounter. During the firefight, two militants have been killed, they said. Identity and group affiliation of the slain duo was being ascertained, they added.
