Weatherman forecasts widespread rains in next 36 hours, ‘significant’ decrease from June 13

Srinagar: The weatherman on Tuesday forecast widespread moderate rain with thunderstorm during next 24 to 36 hours, peaking tonight and tomorrow, across the state.
“Widespread moderate rain with thunderstorm is most likely during next 24 to 36 hours in all districts of the state with peak on June 11th (night) and 12th,” Director of the local Meteorological Department Sonam Lotus said. The weather system, he said, may lead to landslide on Zojila, Ramban-Banihal on Srinagar-Leh and Srinagar-Jammu highways respectively. “Moderate to, heavy shower also likely on Amarnath route both Pahalgam and Baltal Axis,” he said. Lotus however forecast “significant decrease” in rain from forenoon of June 13.
