Anantng: When the news about the death of 32-year old lance Naik Nasir Ahmed Bhat reached his home in Kuchipora Larkipora village of Anantnag on Wednesday morning, his family was shattered.
Nasir was among the two soldiers killed in road accident at Sonitpur district of Assam state on Tuesday.
Sitting in the tent in court yard of his house, Nasir’s sexagenarian father Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat is shell-shocked. While men are silent, the women were wailing.
At 11.20 a.m., Ghulam Mohiuddin says he had received a call from CEO of 13 Battalion JAKLI Assam informing him about the “shocking news”.
Nasir was 20-year-old when he joined Army, few years after his passed 10th standard. Nasir was posted in various states in India including Punna Maharashtra and Ferozpur Panjab borders. He was posted at Sonitpur district from last three years.
Besides aged parents, Nasir is survived by two children—Talha Nasir (5) and Hanan Nasir (2)—and wife. His two sisters are also unmarried.
