Ganderbal: Residents of Pandach in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday claimed that the the road macadamised by Roads and Building department broke within 24 hours of completion of work.

The whole area is up in arms against the department for using sub standard material in the work.

“There is a nexus between R&B department and the contractor,” they alleged.

They have appealed district development commissioner Ganderbal to look into the matter and take action against the department as well as contractor.

When contacted EXN R&B Ganderbal Syed Sajad said that the department is vigilant towards it and will not allow the contractor to use sub-standard material.

“We will repair the portion immediately,” he said, however added that the damages were caused by untimely traffic movement.
