Militant killed in ongoing Sopore gunfight

Sopore: One militant has killed in an ongoing encounter at Banpora, Dangerpora area of sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Police sources confirmed that one militant has been killed in the gunfight that broke out after several hours of cordon and search operation in the area.

They said that the anti militancy operation is being jointly conducted by Army’s 22 RR and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The official are yet to identify the slain militant.

“The operation is underway and is too early to say anything about the identity of the dead,” they said.
