Pulwama: Even in the holy month of Ramazan, Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to provide electricity as per schedule the residents of Tral in this Pulwama district and they continue to face frequent power cuts.
Residents of Trali Payeen, Trali Bala, Nahir, Khasipora, Monghama, Diver, Chatrogam, Arigam, Gamraz, and dozens of other villages complained about the unscheduled power cuts during sehri (pre-dawn meals) and iftaar times.
Talking to INS, Khalid Ahmad, a local resident said that power scenario in the area was relatively better before the holy month but suddenly worsened with the onset of Ramazan.
“Despite paying power bills regularly, the power development department (PDD) is resorting to unscheduled power cuts and putting us in trouble,” Khalid said.
Another resident, Gulzar Ahmad said that power cuts at the time of “Iftaar and Sehri are a routine affair in Tral areas with people facing many inconveniences”
The residents of these areas have requested higher officials of power development department to intervene into the matter and ensure better power supply in the area.
