Kupwara: Constructed in 1997 a medical Sub-Centre in Champora area of Kupwara remains locked for authorities failed to stand with its promise to the land donor.
Champora is a village almost 22 kilometres from main town Kupwara.
Ghulam Ahamd Rather, the owner of the land locked the health center after health department did not comply to its promise of providing job against the land.
Rather, accuses health department for making people of the village suffer accusing them of ‘playing tricks to get things done’.
Rather says that after construction the center was not made functional for four years, and even no staff was given to the center.
“I presented my orchards and went to all including Chief medical officer, Deputy Commissioner, Block medical officer all my requests fell to deaf ears,” Rather accused.
Block Medical officer Dr. Javaid Ahmad hanged the call when questioned on the issue.
