Highway will be fully restored within a week: Div Com assures KCCI

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan on Tuesday convened a meeting regarding the issues highlighted by Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industries (KCCI) here today.
Members of KCCI lauded the serious efforts and dedication of Divisional Commissioner to clear 3000 trucks loaded with essential commodities on the National Highway towards valley on Saturday which will timely benefit the valley consumers.
Members highlighted various issues to the Divisional Commissioner. Regarding hassle free road connectivity to the valley, the Divisional Commissioner assured the members that Highway will be fully restored within a week and traffic will ply from both ends on it besides roadside amenities will be developed on Mughal Road within 10 days.
He assured members that government will distribute 4500 quintals of sugar to the valley consumers soon.
Div Com assured the delegation that their other concerns would be taken care of for the betterment of the economic sector in the Valley.
The Divisional Commissioner said that he would hold weekly meetings with KCCI members on every Saturday to listen and redress issues, if any, faced by the business fraternity.
Directors of Industries & Commerce, Horticulture, Handicrafts & Airport Authority, VC SDA, Chief Engineer PDD, Joint Director Tourism, Additional Commissioner SMC, SP Traffic (Rural), Assistant Commissioner (Central), higher members of KCCI and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
