Govt forms Panel to examine J&K Communication & Connectivity Infrastructure Policy

Srinagar: The government on Thursday accorded sanction to the constitution of committee to examine the draft J&K Communication and Connectivity Infrastructure Policy, 2019, framed by Information Technology Department and also seek comments from various stakeholders and finalize the policy.
Headed by Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, the nine member panel has been tasked to examine and address the issues in particular to facilitate the approval for installation of telecom Infrastructure in the State in a time bound manner, Right of Way (ROW) issues.
“The policy of the State should be in alignment with the Central ROW rules of November 2016.”
The Committee shall also have to examine Single window ROW clearance; ROW for Border Areas; Delay in ROW clearance from Forest Department; Permission for installation of telecom infrastructure at sites near Dal Lake and other water bodies and Repeated ROW clearances required during rectification of ROW.
