Shopian: A day before last phase of the Lok Sabha polls for Anantnag Parliamentary constituency, unknown persons set ablaze a government school building, housing a polling booth, in South Kashmir’s Shopian district overnight, reports sand officials said on Sunday.Reports said that during intervening night of May 4 and 5, government school located In Rivulet at Dompora village of Shopian was put to fire. “The rooftop of the school building was damaged fully and a building adjacent to it also suffered minor damages in the fire.”Officials said that investigations are underway as to reasons about the burning of the schools. “Apparently it seems that the school building was set on fire. Whether it is so will be investigated. Also other angles will be looked into,” said a police official. Shopian and Pulwama districts are going to polls in the last phase of the elections in Jammu and Kashmir along with Ladakh.
