Cop Shot At, Injured in Khaniyar

Srinagar: A Police constable was shot at and injured when suspected militants carried out an attack in Khanyar area of Srinagar on Wednesday evening.
The attack was carried out in Kaw Mohalla area of the Khaniyar, sources said. The injured cop, Iliyas has been shifted to hospital, they said.
Sources said that Iliyas, a selection grade constable, is presently working in police department’s intelligence wing at Handwara. A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. This is the second militant attack in Srinagar within a fortnight in Srinagar.
