More than 20 including minors arrested during nocturnal raids in Pulwama, Shopian

Pulwama: Ahead of Lok Sabha polls in Pulwama and Shopian district at least  24 youth have been detained by police during nocturnal raids from different villages.

According to locals in Murran and Kangan villages in Pulwama forces raided the village and laid siege and launched searches.

Locals claimed that among the detained many are minors and a 60 year old man has also been picked up.

“Almost twenty youth were arrested,” they said.

In  Shopian village forces launched a pre dawn operation and arrested four youth.

Police sources told INS that the youth have been detained over their role in stone pelting incidents in the areas.

“They are being questioned,” a police official said, wishing not to be named.
