Woman among 9 accused charge sheeted for attack on CRPF in Srinagar last year

Srinagar: Police on Monday filed charge sheet against nine accused persons including a woman in connection with an attack near Fire Services Crossing here, leading to the killing of a paramilitary CRPF personnel on July 24 last year.
Regarding the incident, a case (FIR No 93/2018) was registered in Police Station Shaheedganj, a police spokesman said
He said the militants had fired indiscriminately upon CRPF and Police Personnel deployed for Secretariat duty near Fire Services crossing, resulting in injuries to CRPF personnel and one of them Ct/GD Shanker Lal Brala of A/23 Battalion CRPF was killed.
After conclusion of the investigation, chargesheet was filed before the competent Court under relevant sections of law by Srinagar Police after obtaining necessary Government sanction for prosecution, the spokesman said.
The chargesheet has been filed against nine accused including Mohammed Shafeeq Bhat of Diyarwani Batamaloo, Waseem Khan of Diyarwani Batamaloo, Bilal Ahmad Bhat of Kund Qazigund, Mst.Shazia Yaqoob alias Pari of Kamad Anantnag and Tehseen Ahmed Batloo alias Junaid of Zainder Mohalla Habakadal for their role in hatching “criminal conspiracy” for the act, harbouring militants and lending support to the “proscribed militants organisation.”
