Kulgam: Former chief minister and National Conference president Omar Abdullah on Saturday without naming any one said that the threat to Jammu and Kashmir by Bharatiya Janata Party is far greater then militants or by Pakistan.
“State of Jammu and Kashmir has not much threat from gun or neighbor but is much under threat from people hell bent to scrap special status, article 370 from constitution of India,” Abdullah said.
Abdullah said that if special status of J&K is ‘wrong’ then the ‘accession of J&K with union of India too must be wrong’.

BJP top gun Amit Shah on Saturday also reiterated that once in power they will scrap the article 370 of constitution of India granting special status to J&K.
“The accession of J&K with union of India was a conditional one, and if those conditions, as of today are wrong, then you will have to reopen the negotiations for a new accession,” Abdullah said.
Abdullah was addressing a rally in Kulgam’s Kanchallo kund area in Qazigund.
Omar said that the ‘tyranny, oppression, damage to special status perpetrated under PDP-BJP rule is un-precedented’.
“If you (Mehbooba Mufti) cannot convince your brother to cast vote for her how do you suppose people of south Kashmir will come to salvage you,” Abdullah said.
Abdullah was referring to recently concluded Lok Sabha Polls, first phase for Anantnag parliamentary seat, in District Anantnag.
Mufti’s brother, Tasadduq Mufti, did not cast his vote on the poll day following which she has been receiving flak from various quarters of political parties.
“Your brohter, who held a portfolio in you governemnt, if he does not find you worth a vote, people of south Kashmir also know what you have unleashed upon them. They too won’t cast vote for you,” Abdullah said.
NC members said that the Kulgam rally was attended by ‘thousands of people and wa amongst the largest rallies for NC in south Kashmir’.
The rally was organised by Mohammad Rafiq Khan, a senior NC leader.
Abdullah said that it was during her tenure that young boys were blinded by pellets, killings became rampant and attacks were mounted on special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
“It was her who paved way for BJP into valley, who previously were not welcome here,” he said.
Abdullah asked Mehbooba to remember that when she was the member of Parliament and was asked by the speaker to speak for ‘people she represents’.
“She said ‘mein kya bolun’. This is her record,” Abdullah told the gathering.
