The shutdown JRL said has been called against the detention of Yasin Malik, who was shifted from Jammu jail to the custody of National Invstigation Agency in New Delhi.

His family recently claimed that he is on hunger strike and has been hospitalised after his health deteriorated.

Shutdown has also been called against he Highway ban of the government barring civilian vehicular movement from Udhampur to Uri, first for two days a week, later amended to Sundays only.

Also JRL said that strike should be observed against the suspension of cross Line of Control trade.

Ministry of Home Affairs in its order said that cross LOC trade routes are being used for inflow of money, narcotics and weapons, hence suspending the trade immediately.
