Anantnag: Fifteen years, seems not an enough time for Roads and Building department for a construction of the Zamalgam, Bonagund village over Nallah Sandran in Anantang district.

The construction of the bridge commenced in 2004.

Pending completion, the bridge would have connected villages of zamalgam, Bonagund, Batagund, Aagnu,  Ponzu to the district headquarters Anantnag.

Absence of commutable bridge have lead to mishaps, injuries and deaths, locals tell INS.

“At Khalhar bridge, a young boy drowned while crossing the stream with his father. He died on the spot,” they claimed.

“The temporary bridge connecting two ends was constructed by locals to cross the Nallah. That too was damaged as water level increased last year,” they said.
