Jammu: India and Pakistan armies traded gunfire along line of control in Poonch district on Friday.

According to officials the exchange begun following Pakistan army violating ceasefire in the area and targeted Indian forward posts.

“Pakistan resorted to use of mortar shelling and firing by small arms in Sawjiyan sectors around 8. 15.am in morning,” they said.

They also said that Indian army is retaliating the firing effectively and in ‘befitting manner’.
