Sameer Ahmad
Anantnag: Residents of Dooru Anantnag protested against the State’s Health Department for shifting the old hospital staff to new hospital building, thereby rendering the former defunct.
Hundreds of villagers marched towards the sub district hospital and protest against the health department for shifting the staff to the new hospital building.
Official sources said that the Director Health Services Kashmir visited sub-district hospital Dooru yesterday and ordered shifting of all staff to new hospital.
As the news spread, villagers took to roads and protested against it. Sources said that on 14 November 2018 Advisor Vijay Kumar visited the Modern hospital Dooru and issue orders for opening up of new hospital building.
He issued directions on spot and assured people of the area that soon the hospital will be formally inaugurated within stipulated time.
The new Modern hospital building Dooru was completed in 2017 after seven years of construction and other allied works but was waiting for inauguration due to which people faced tremendous problems to visit other hospitals.
Advisor Kumar had directed the concerned officials to keep old hospital intact as Maternity hospital and make all infrastructures available for the hospital.
