Gov’t appoints Liason Officers for J&K students in AMU, meeting students on April 4

Srinagar: Government of Jammu and Kashmir appointed four liason officers for Aligarh Muslim University will be visiting the varsity on April 4. They will hold meeting with students from the state.
The team was constituted to coordinate with the students from the state pursuing higher education in AMU.
According to a letter issued to AMU by the resident commissioner the four officers will be visiting the varsity this week.
“You are requested to kindly arrange a meeting with the students belonging to J&K on April 4 at 12 noon by giving it an adequate publicity so that maximum students may participate in the said meeting,” reads the letter.
The four liason officers for AMU include Navin Kumar Choudhary, IAS, Principal Secretary to Gov’t Industies and Commerce department, Talat Parvez Secretary to the Gov’t, Higher Education, Zubair Ahmad, Sec to Gov’t Higher Education, Abdul Majid, Sec to Gov’t Coperative Department.
“In the aftermath of Pulwama incident, the J&K Government has constituted two committees of the senior officers who shall interact with the students of J&K pursuing higher education outside the state and also to look into the problems being faced by them,” the letter issued to Registrar AMU reads.
The officers have been asked to coordinate with the students from J&K, ‘whenever they are faced with situations or incidents relating to their identity’.
