Government attaches Syed Ali Geelani’s ‘property’ in Malviya Nagar, Delhi

Srinagar: Income tax department has attached the property of Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani’s New Delhi residence against failing to pay the taxes due to him

According to an order issued by the office of the Tax recovery officer, the Khirki extension, Malviya Nagar residence of Geelani was sealed as he ‘failed to pay the sum of 3,62, 62, 160 for the AY 1996-97 to 2001-02’.

“It is ordered that your are hereby, prohibited and restrained , until the further order of the undersigned, from transferring or charging the mentioned property,” the order reads.
