Tral: The government school in Bangidar-Gutroo village in Tral has been locked by its land donor accusing authorities of not fulfilling its promise of employment in lieu of land.
The land donor, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Ghaffar Sheikh, a resident of Gutroo village in Tral, has said that he had donated the land to the new building of Govt. Primary School Bangidar, in 2007.
“I was promised job in return,” he told INS.
“All the concerned officials including CEO and ZEO have been assuring me of employment but twelve years have passed since,” Manzoor said.
The students have shifted to  old building of school after the school was locked.  The old building has only three rooms and is irking the students as well as teachers now.
“I will not unlock the school unless the promises made are fulfilled,” he said.
Zonal Education Officer, Loragam Tral, Ghulam Mohammad Kumar told INS that, land donor has not transferred his land officially to the education department. “Making him ineligible for the job.”
“I visited the area thrice in last few days and have talked to DC Pulwama as well about the issue. We are trying our best to resolve it,” Kumar said.
