Government bans use of various disposable items in J&K

Srinagar: Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday banned use of non-biodegradable materials including disposable plates, cups, bowls among other items in the state.

According to the order issued by the Gov’t the use of disposable plates, cups, bowls, tumblers, spoons, forks and knives.

The order said that the ban shall be deemed to have in force after one month from th date of its publication in the government gazette.

“The govt of J&K after consultation with the prescribed authority (J&K State Pollution Control Board) herby bans completely, the following articles made of non biodegradable material listed in the schedule I of the said act, within the territorial jurisdiction of the state of J&K,” order read.
