Sopore: Government forces have arrested almost a dozen youth during nocturnal raids on Sopore, Janwara and Warpora village of Baramulla district.

“The raids were conducted in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday by a joint team of forces,” sources said.

Reports said that  Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and  CRPF personnel raided many residential houses in the town and villages to detain youth allegedly part of stone pelters.

Officials sources said that the arrested youth were detained on charges of stone pelting.

Pertinently on Saturday massive clashes erupted in Sopore following funeral procession of slain local militant Amir Rasool Kaboo.

Kaboo was killed in a gunfight with government forces.
