Forecasters say clear sky in Kashmir today, tomorrow

Srinagar: Forecasters have predicted clear sky in the state for today and tomorrow even as Gulmarg and Pahalgam remained only places in Kashmir where mercury settled below freezing point last night.
“Mainly clear sky on 26 and 27 March in J&K,” an official of the local Meteorological Department said.
He said that Srinagar—the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir – recorded a minimum temperature of 3.6 degrees Celsius last night against 5 degrees Celsius normal for this time of the season. The official said that Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir recorded a low of 3.0 degrees Celsius while the mercury in Kokernag town in south Kashmir settled at a low of 3.9 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a minimum of 0.5 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg, the famous ski-resort in north Kashmir, witnessed a low of minus 1.6 degrees Celsius while the famous health resort of Pahalgam recorded a minimum of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius.
