Srinagar: Green Valley Educational Institute on Saturday celebrated World Arbor Day in collaboration with the Department of Social Forestry, J&K.

Dr. Shahid lqbal Choudhary (IAS), District Development Commissioner Srinagar, participated in the celebrations and also planted saplings in the campus followed by the massive plantation drive by the fledging scholars of the school.

Later on, a colourful function was held in the school auditorium highlighting the role of the day.

The guest deliberated upon the importance of tree plantation.

Later Chairman GVEI, M.Y.Wani and Principal Prof. Razia Sultana presented mementos to the Chief Guest and to the Guest of Honour.
