Tral: Students and teaching staff of Sabir Abdullah Public School (SAPS) in Tral on Friday staged a protest demonstration against the alleged ‘custodial killing’ of their principal Rizwan Assad.
The students accompanied by teaching staff, took out a protest rally from the school ground to bus stand Tral. Carrying placards and banners in their hands and chanting slogans in favour of Rizwan Assad Pandith, they were demanding ‘justice’ for the 28-year-old who was picked by police on Sunday and “died in custody” two days later. Police later registered FIR under 224 RPC (custodial escape).
“Rizwan was one of the great teachers. He was very helpful to his students and colleagues,” they said.
Chanting slogans of “Justice for Rizwan” and “Rizwan hum sharminda hai tere qaatil zinda hain”, the protesting students dispersed peacefully at school campus.
