Kupwara: The inhabitants of Trehgam Block in north kahsmirs kupwara district are irked over the alleged failure of administration against non availability of basic facilities at Pulic Health Centre Trehgam
The medical facility was shifted to the new building a month back without availing water and other basic facilities.
“Both patients and medical staff are suffering,” locals rued.
There is no water, no proper electrification has been done, staff crunch, lack of accomodations have badly hit its functioning leading to chaos in health care in rural area.
“The patients have been forced to go to private clinics of doctors or go to Srinagar,” local claimed.
According to officials at the hospital labor room has a single bathroom.

The resident have sought up-gradation of PHC Trehgam at the earnest.
Talking to The INS News, AEE, Shabir Masood, said that, temporary connection was provided to hospital but the hospital authorities have complained about insufficient supply.
“In two days we will start the work and hopefully the hospital will get sufficient storage of water in next 15 days,” Masood said.
Dr Nasir,BMO PHC Trehgam, accepted the health center is facing the tremendous pressure due to non availiability of basic things and the shortage of staff.
“But we are managing,” Nasir said.
He claimed that they have various times brougth things to the notice of health department higher ups but ‘they seem not intersted’.
