Jamiat Ahl e Hadith Vice President Mushtaq Veeri booked under PSA, shifted to Kotbalwal Jail

Srinagar: Prominent Kashmiri cleric Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri has  been booked under Public Safety Act and shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.

Veeri is vice president of Jamiat e Ahl e Hadith Jammu and Kashmir.

He was  arrested on February 24, 2019 following a crackdown on Kashmir’s largest socio-religious organisation Jama’at-e-Islami.

Jama’at spokesman advocate Zahid Ali is also lodged in the high security prison in Jammu while its chief is lodged in Central Jail Srinagar.

Almost 250 Jama’at members have been detained since it was declared an ‘unlawfull organisation’ for five years.
