Police busts Inter-State Drug Smuggling gang, 6 arrested, 3 trucks seized, contraband substances recovered

Jammu: An inter state drug smuggling gang has been unearthed by J&K Police and arrested six accused, while six trucks and contraband substances has been seized as well.

Police spokesperson said that SOG Jammu achieved a major success by recovering  2214  bottles of Banned drug Codeine Phosphate and about 3.5 kilograms of high quality haras in two separate operations late last night.

They said that SOG Jammu along with Samba Police seized two trucks which were coming from Punjab and arrested 04 persons.

“2214 bottles of codein phosphate at Mansar Morh and the consignment was concealed in specially made cavities in the trucks,” police said.

The accused were identified as Omaak Ahmed Dar S/o Ashiq Hussain Dar R/0 Sonawar Sringar, Aaqib Gul S/0 Ghulam Mohd. Ahangar R/o Khanomo Sringar, Shakeel Ahmed Dar S/o Ghulam Ahmed Dar R/0 Dooru Shahbad Anantnag and  Isfaq Manzoor S/0 Manzoor Ahmed Anagar R/o Khamano Sringar.

In another raid carried out by SOG Jammu, a Naka was laid near Ban Toll Plaza with the sleuths of PS Nagrota.

“A Tata mobile vehicle was signaled to stop but it accelerated the speed, which however was made to stop at another Naka and after the thorough search of the vehicle and persons sitting in the said vehicle, a consignment of 3.5 kilograms of high quality CHARAS was recovered,” police said.

“The vehicle was seized and drug smugglers were apprehended who disclosed their identity as Firdoos Ahmed Dar S/O Gh. Qadir Dar R/O Tulkhan Bijbherra, Anantnag and Kounser Ahmed Dar S/O Abdul Rehman Dar R/O Tulkhan,” police said.
