Kulgam: Clashes broke out between protesters and government forces amid cordon and search operation (CASO) in Budroo area of Yaripora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

According to locals as soon as the forces laid siege over the area protesters hit streets and clashed with forces.

“The protesters resorted to stone pelting and intense sloganeering,” locals claimed.

Forces retaliated by using tear gas to disperse the protesters.

Earlier a CASO was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army, CRPF and Police.

They said that the operation was launched in the area following specific inputs about presence of militants in the area.
