Baramulla: A civilian was injured as India and Pakistan armies in violation of ceasefire exchanged mortar shells along Line of Control in Kamalkote Uri area in north Kashmir Baramulla district on Sunday afternoon.

Reports said a civilian Riyaz Ahmad Khatania son of Sadar Din Khatania of Shahdara Kamalkote Uri was injured and he has been hospitalized.

Army officials here claimed that Pakistani army violated the ceasefire and targeted Indian Army’s check posts and residential areas, resulting in the injuries to the civilian. The artillery fire, the official said, has been ‘retaliated effectively’.

Earlier house of one Mohammad Sadiq Gujjar son of Baber Ali Gujjar was partially damaged at Kamalkote due to a mortar shell.
